City of Salisbury is the largest city on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the county seat of Wicomico County. It was founded way back in 1732 and incorporated in 1854. The population of the city was 23,743 at the 2000 census. Perdue Stadium, Poplar Hill Mansion (owned by the City since 1974), Chipman Cultural Center, Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art and the Salisbury Zoological Park, which is recognized as one of the best small zoos in America. The city is well connected by different modes of transportation and is easily accessible via air, water and road. Wicomico Regional Airport serves the Salisbury city. There is a port at the Wicomico River. Major manufacturing of the city include clothing, machinery, and boats. The city is also a center of trade for the Eastern Shore.
