These two events are not celebrated on the same days each year as they are calculated according to the lunar calendar called “kameri takvim”. Ramadan is celebrated on the first three days of the Sevval month while the Feast of the Sacrifice is celebrated in four days which follow the tenth day of the Zilhicce month.

This festival is organized by the Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation every April wherein one sees hundreds of renowned artists from all over the world gathering in Istanbul adding color and cultural luster to a city known for its cultural and historical richness.

The Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation organize the International Istanbul Jazz Festival every July. In this festival as well performing artists and musicians add color and cultural luster to the festival and the city enhances its reputation as a historical and cultural center.

The Sevda Cenap and Foundation plays host to the festival every April-May. The festival is a member of the European Festivals Union and it has hosted over 8000 famous artists. The Polyphonic Choruses Association runs the Turkish Choruses Festivity bringing together thousands of music lovers with the objective of spreading polyphonic music in the country.

This is perhaps the most important organization from Turkey which calls out to the world for friendship and peace through the medium of music. The language of music and its power of love carry the magical rhythm of classical music to various parts of Anatolia throughout one month of the year.

The oldest film festival in Turkey is also referred at times to as the Oscars of the Turkish film industry. The film festival attracts cinema lovers of Turkey.
