Peace, Serenity and Solitude comes to mind when we talk about Krabi & Koh Lanta. Koh Lanta Thailandis situated in the southern most district of Krabi Province, approximately 70 kilometers from Krabi island Thailand. It stretches for 27 kilometers in the north to south direction along the western coastline of Andaman Sea in southern Thailand.

Koh Lanta Thailand lies on the west coast of Andaman Sea in between Krabi and Phi Phi Island. The region is blessed with spectacular scenery, incredible white sandy beaches, with coastlines having more than 70 small islands and plenty with forest, coral reefs and under water life. The geography of the island is typically mangroves; coral rimmed beaches; and rugged tree covered hills.

Krabi Island Thailand is the region with Thailand's oldest history and has seen continued settlement. From the archaeological findings it has been concluded that this area has been home to men since more than 30,000 years. Earlier, the town was known as "Muang Banthai Samoe" and the symbol was a monkey. In 1872 King Rama V raised the town to become a province.

Koh Lanta Thailand is not as famous as the nearby Ko Phi Phi because it hardly has been discovered. The several beaches on the west coast of Ko Lanta Yai are lined with resorts and bungalows. Ko Lanta is a haven for Swedish tourists and tourists seeking a holiday away from the parties. It’s more of taking brisk walks on the beach and watching the sunset. It is also popular with families with young children and of course, with divers.

Koh Lanta Thailand was exposed to the Tsunami hit southern Thailand, but was very little affected and the place has recovered with almost no damage to its natural charming beauty. All the beaches are as beautiful as ever.
