Koh Samui Thailand is an island of natural beauty and charm and a perfect place for holiday. It is situatedoff the east coast of the Kra Isthmus close to the mainland Surat Thani town in Thailand. It is Thailand's second largest island with great natural beauty and variety. At 247 sq. km., Samui is the largest island in an archipelago of over 80, mainly uninhabited, islands which form the Ang Thong National Marine Park, a kayaking and snorkeling paradise. At 25 km long and 21 km wide, Samui is big enough for serious exploration by the adventurous and fit.

For those who love the beach, this is the place to be in. Beautiful white sand beaches, clean, clear warm water, lush tropical gardens and gentle ocean breezes await you at this ideal holiday destination. Tourism has long since overtaken coconut farming and fishing as the main sources of income. The latter are still practiced though to a lesser extent and the pleasant aroma of charring coconuts can still be smelled on many parts of the island. Koh Samui Island is generally considered as the second most beautiful tourism spot in Thailand.

For visitor’s who want to enjoy the natural beauties within the serene environment, Koh Samui Thailand is simply the best place for them. It has been attracting over the years many foreigners, especially from Europe. An interesting fact comes to light is that many foreign travelers who came to Koh Samui on a vacation, fell in love of its beauty and eventually decided to settle here. One of the reasons why people come to the place is its beaches which remain stunning after decades of development.

Besides, there is not much to do then lying on the beach with a cold beer in hand and relaxing on the island. Though there are pair of rocks on Lamai to amuse some visitors, Bang Rak has a large but nondescript Buddha statue, and there are some waterfalls but of minor interest. Koh Samui weather is a little different than the rest of Thailand. Koh Samui is a tropical island with the inland parts of the island is a dense tropical forest. One can expect some rain at anytime in any month on Koh Samui.

Koh Samui weather sees time of heavier and more consistent rain is October through to mid December. When the rains stop and the plants grow wild and beautiful is the Dry Season, or as the Thais calls it, winter. Winter on Koh Samui is usually 30 degree Celsius and sunny. The hot season starts when the ground has dried from a lack of rain and sand dusts the road. The over-head tropical sun is brighter and hotter than usual. Many tropical fruits ripen during this season. This season starts in April and lasts until the cooling rain, which begins in September/October.

The Seafood is well known in Samui. Koh Samui Restaurant around the island offers Thai, European and many other cuisines. One could go for the large range of tropical fruits and a fresh coconut. Samui is labeled ‘paradise’ not only for its tropical beaches and friendly people but now it is also become known for the culinary excellence. The Koh Samui Restaurant in the city provide with both quality and delicious food.
