Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan Island is nestled in the Gulf of Siam, about 20 kilometers north of Koh Samui, or approximately 100 kilometers from Suratthani Mainland. The island is enclosed by tropical jungle and the mountains cover about 75 % of the total area, according to Koh Phangan Map. It is dotted with pristine beaches and bays. Widely known for its picturesque beaches, the island offers ideal spot for the travelers who prefer tranquility, more private beaches set in a relaxed atmosphere. Most beaches on Koh Phangan are great for swimming and snorkeling. It is most famous for its full moon party, which is perhaps the biggest beach party on this planet.

Had Rin Nok is the most admired beach on Pha Ngan. Here you will find the celebrated Full moon party. Had Rin is actually two beaches (Had Rin Nok and Had Rin Nai) and the East side is often considered as the best. Moreover, Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi and Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai are considered to be two of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Phangan Island. They are great for swimming and relaxing. In addition to this there is an amazingly beautiful beach, Had Kuat (Bottle beach), in the North West of Koh Phangan Map. The beach is bounded by tropical mountains and coves and is reachable by taxi boat from Ao Chaloklum. If you are looking for a paradise beach, look no further. West Had Yao is one of the most appealing in the region. It is one kilometer wide beach which made it perfect for sports like beach volleyball etc. Visitors can also find excellent accommodations and restaurants nearby the beach.

Beside isolated and virgin beaches around the island, there are many interesting attractions including a summit temple called Wat Khao Tham which is ideal for meditation, Than Sadet Waterfall, and the Namtok Phaeng National Park. The island is a true dream course for most golfers, but it might be a real challenge for the beginners. You can rent different kind of sailing boats, catamarans and windsurfing boards on a few locations. Tourists must try the fascinating sport of Kite boarding or Kite surfing.
