Eskilstuna Sweden is a town located close to Lake Malaren at about 100 kilometers west of Stockholm in Sweden. Eskilstuna was well-known as a flourishing industrial town as early as the 17th century, and today it is inhabited with about 89,000 residents. As the city’s history facts goes King Karl X Gustav founded the Rademacher Forges in 1650 when he asked Reinhold Rademacher, a master smith, to control the forges. The city’s nature over the years has changed. With the starting of the high speed train service in 1997 from Stockholm to Eskilstuna the town has become a centre in the fast growing Mälarregion. It is now more feasible and convenient to travel from Stockholm as it just tales now only 60 minutes by rail.

For the visitors to the city Eskilstuna Sweden there are two tourist attractions worth visiting. First is the Rademacher Forges and the other is The Sigurd Rock Carving from the Viking period, around 1040. The Rock carving is found near Sundbyholm Manor House on the shores of Lake Malaren. In addition the city is also famous for its zoo where a large number of white tigers have been reared. The city has also grown into a university town, with about 6,000 students studying in Eskilstuna. The Mälardalen University is a twin university with locations in both Eskilstuna and Vasteras which is situated 50 kilometers due north of Eskilstuna. The Eskilstuna campus of the University specializes in nursing, training of teachers, innovation design and product development, technical information particularly illustration, and computer graphics.

The city’s economy has grown and the city is today a flourishing business centre offering many opportunities for entrepreneurs. It is famous for its many innovations, such as locks and safety systems, construction machines, car parts and electronics, with some of the inventions receiving international recognition. Eskilstuna is a manufacturing centre with a high percentage of its residents employed in the industry.
