Ancient city of sigiriya is considered to b the best preserved city in Asia, with its perfect blend of its buildings and beautiful gardens with their trees, pathways, and water gardens. In the central Sri Lanka the city of Sigiriya Sri Lanka is located which draws its name from giriya (‘jaws and throat’) and sinha (‘lion’). The city is home to the ruins of an ancient royal fortress and city founded during the fifth century AD by King Kasyapa. The city is spread out 3 kilometers wide and 1 kilometer long, standing on a steep, large rock, known as Lion Mountain. The city is a glorious site featuring a chain of water gardens, trees and pathways, which are laid out according to an ‘echo plan’, with the two sides reflecting one another in an even design. Moreover, the Ancient city of sigiriya is also a distinguished place for its fifth-century rock paintings.
