Russia is officially known as the Russian Federation that extends over Eastern Europe and northern Asia. It has an extensive Arctic Ocean and North Pacific Ocean coastlines, as well as smaller coastlines on the Baltic, Black and Caspian Seas. Geographically, Russia is land bordered by Norway and Finland to the northwest, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Belarus and Ukraine to the west, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan to the southwest, China and Mongolia to the south, and China and North Korea to the southeast. The American state of Alaska lies opposite to the easternmost point of Russia across the Bering Strait.

Russia’s Imperial Flag was adopted on the 21st of August in 1991. The flag has horizontal bands of solid color, each of equal size and shape. The colors from top to bottom are white, blue and red.

Russian Music is varied and includes folk music, opera, classical and contemporary, such as rock, pop etc. Folk music of Russia features a number of traditional instruments like Balalaika, Svirel, Domra, Kuvikly and Buben among others.
