Russia transportation includes traveling via train, planes, car, taxis, boats and buses. Getting around the cities of Russia and getting to a particular city is easy and accessible.
By plane
Moscow and Saint Petersburg are served by direct charter flights from most European capitals. Moscow also has direct flights from many cities in South Asia, the Middle East, East Asia, Africa, and North America. There are airports in all the major cities in Russia. Some international service can be found in cities like Novosibirsk, Sochi, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Ekaterinburg.
By train
Traveling via train is one of the best options to travel from city to city. You can easily get direct train from many cities in Eastern and Central Europe to Moscow and Saint Petersburg. From main cities like Tallinn, Helsinki, Budapest, Riga, Berlin and Warsaw you will find departure points with daily services to Russia.
By car
Since roads are poorly marked, traveling in Russia by car can be difficult- principally outside the cities and towns. Traffic rules in Russia are numerous and complicated so make sure that you follow them all. Car rental services are available widely but only in major cities like Moscow and Saint Petersburg and are also expensive.
By boat
Ferry services run in the summer season connecting Sochi and Turkey's Trabzon.
By bus
Many bus companies, most notably Euro lines, operate international coach services from several destinations to the cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Important cities like Tallinn, Berlin, Helsinki and Warsaw all have frequent services to Russia.
