Climate of Russia is very much similar to that of European nations. The location of mountains in the southern region obstruct the flow of humid air from the Indian Ocean and the plain of the west and north making the country exposed to Arctic and Atlantic influences. To avoid crowd the best time to visit Russia is during May to June or September to early October. Although winter is bitingly cold, it has its own charm and the snow make for a spectacular view.
