Setubal

Dating back to the Roman period, Setubal is the third largest port in Portugal. On the old road to Algarve, the town of Alcácer do Sal lies to eth south on the old road to the Algarve. The castle and the Convento de Santo António built in the 16th century got destroyed in an earthquake. Now the castle has been converted into a comfortable Pousada for the visitors who wish to stay there overnight. To the immediate north of Setubal city Portugal is town of Palmela. The high walls of the castle are on the crown of its hill.
