Tourist Attractions in Poland

0 Kilometer Stone
This is a large oval stone situated in the small park just beside Clark Adam ter. Many tourists are fascinated by this strange-looking stone right beside the funicular. It does not hold significance as a work of modern art but is the exact point from where all distances in the country are measured.

Andrassy ut
The drastic change that you discover the street taking as you go past the picturesque section of Andrassy ut is a big attraction. You will like the urban planning which has been carefully implemented as you see huge and lovely buildings complete with intricate and ornate facades separated by traffic islands from the main road. Here many prefer to take a stroll up to Hero’s Square from where one can catch the M1 back.

Buda Hills

The unique aspect you will find here when you reach the top from the cog-wheel railway is that the ‘Children’s Railway’ is manned exclusively by children apart from the train drivers. From here the children take the train a couple of stops to Janos Hegy (Janos Hill). Look out for the Erzsebet Look-Out Tower which is a resemblance of a Victorian folly. All you have to do is simply climb to the top and enjoy the splendid view in all the directions. Come back to sea level in a chair lift or walk to the foot of the tower and enjoy some refreshments.

Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden

The entrance is situated beside the famous Gundel restaurant. Many like to stop for a cup of coffee before embarking on their tour of the zoo and garden.  The zoo has been accepted to be one of the most entertaining parts of the fabulous city by many travelers. Enjoy sights of elephants, giraffes, monkeys, rhinos while savoring varieties of ice-cream at the ice-cream stands. There are a few other attractions such as Heroes’ Square, museums, an amusement park and thermal baths which are situated in close proximity.

Castle District

The area is situated northwards from the Royal Palace. This medieval street network had been damaged in the war. Things to view around here are the remains of the Dominican monastery and the Plague monument outside Matyas Church. You can also enjoy a quiet walk along the castle walls on the Buda side and see the Turkish tomb stones at the north western corner.

Chain Bridge
The bridge is as spectacular as its history. Without doubt, it is one of the best places from where one can enjoy panoramic views of the city. The sights in the night are even more impressive. Its historic significance is that this was the first bridge to link the two cities of Buda and Pest. There was an open air festival held to commemorate the 150th birthday celebrations of this historical bridge.
