Gjovik Norway is the biggest municipality covering an area of 672 square kilometers. The activities of farming and forestry have been the mainstay for settling and gaining employment in the town. The town owes its foundation to Casper Kauffeldt and is conveniently situated in the east of Norway by Miosa Lake. The lake is a chief attraction of the city and holds prominence as Norway’s largest lake. The origin of the lake in the north is from Lillehammer and extends to Minnesund in the south. The Gjovik weather is quite friendly to fun activities such as trotting, bicycle rides and hiking.
The town has a chief attraction in the form of the city’s Olympic Mountain Hall which is undoubtedly the largest underground auditorium in the world. There is a top class hockey arena in the city which ensures activities such as cultural events, trade fairs and exhibitions are held successfully to keep visitors and tourists engrossed. The promenade along the Lake Miosa is an adventurous path made on rocks excavated from the Gjovik Olympic Cavern Hall. The adventure tourists will love the new fabulous experience along the promenade which takes one through 5-6 kilometers of greenery and playing fields. It is also an opportunity to go for a swim and enjoy a picnic along the pathway.
