Nepal Visa & Passport

It is very easy to get a Nepal Visa for the purpose of tourism. There are almost fifty countries that have the facility of Visa on arrival, while others have to get the visa form Royal Nepalese Embassy in their respective countries. Citizens of few Asian countries don’t even require Visa.

Beside these general guidelines, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued following visa Nepal guidelines for the tourists:-

• Tourists’ visa is required by foreign tourists visiting Nepal.
• It is granted only for a period of five months.
• If a tourist departs before the expiry of a period specified in the visa issued in the visa year shall not be allowed to use the remaining period in another year.
• A foreigner can use the facility of staying in Nepal with the tourist visa of other year, if he enters into Nepal towards the end of a visa year.
• Form for obtaining tourist visa can be obtained from the embassy or downloaded form the site www.tourism.gov.np

Travel documents

It is not as difficult to travel in Nepal as in other countries. The following documents are required to be carried while on travel to Nepal.

• The valid passport and the Nepalese Visa
• Identity and address proof
• Duly filled and attested disembarkation and embarkation forms
• Documents permitting trekking and mountaineering
• Certification of arrival and departure
• Return ticket if you are a tourist
• Documents certifying points of entry or exit
