Malaysia Nightlife

Nightlife in Malaysia does not disappoint its visitors. Of the various cities in the country Kuala Lumpur the capital city is the hub of nightlife activities as its a city that never sleeps. Nightlife in Malaysia is alive and pulsating with its many magnetic nightspots from karaoke lounges, jazz bars, pool halls, pubs, discos, dance clubs and wine bars. KL city waits for the sun to go down and it rocks to the rhythms of the nightspots. The pubs are open up to 11.00 pm, whereas the nightclubs are open late night.

The city centre of Kuala Lumpur is the center for nightlife in Malaysia along with some urban spots, lights up with excitement at night as crowds of youngsters, revelers and yuppies frequent clubs, bars and pubs on the streets. The hub of activity usually starts from 10 pm onwards though some nightspots open earlier. Karaoke is another popular activity, usually among Chinese who just love to bellow or croon oldies. Bansgar is the city’s heart throb of KL’s nightlife. Bangsar is located in the suburbs of KL. A single night out to the place leaves craving for more and do make it a point to try each and every nightspot in town. Bangsar area has been dubbed as the Picadilly Circus of KL. The pubs, karaoke’s, and other night life and entertainment are abundant and packed even on weekdays.

Nightlife in Malaysia has Kuala Lumpur with a selection of reputable nightclubs and discos, most belonging to the big hotels. Penang city is also lively at night, larger hotels having cocktail lounges, dining, dancing and cultural shows. There are night markets in most towns, including both Kuala Lumpur and Penang Chinatown. Kuala Lumpur offers exciting nightlife for those looking for relaxation. Besides local and international theatre shows and symphony orchestras, there is a wide variety of entertainment including live bands, jazz bands, strollers, dinner shows, cabaret, disco and karaoke lounges. Malay and Chinese films often have English subtitles and there are also English films. Though, a little disappointment for the nightlife in Malaysia is that the Authorities enforce a 3 am closure ruling for nightspots, as Malaysia is a Muslim country.
