Cities in Luxembourg

Luxembourg is a small landlocked country located in the north Western Europe. The capital of the country is also called Luxembourg, and is considered to be one of the most underestimated cities in Europe. Luxembourg City is an attractive place with a green and charming landscape and many historical sites all worth a visit. Cities of Luxembourg are 12 as defined by statute. Though enjoying the status of cities, these are more a less small urbanized areas. The cities are similar to communities, but have been elevated to a different legal status. As the history goes the status was derived from a city's possession of a city charter, but city rights are now granted and regulated by statute. Luxembourg City is a beautiful place with a wealth of natural beauty, an exciting history, and more. Luxembourg City has a number of beautiful small cities and villages to visit. All cities of Luxembourg can be easily visited in a day from the capital city of Luxembourg. To call them cities would be calling a little bit more, but places like Vianden in The Ardennes, Grevenmacher in the Moselle Valley and Echternach in the Mullerthal to the east of the country all are worth visiting. Vianden is in a beautiful setting, famous for its castles, whilst Grevenmacher is the access point to the famous Moselle wineries. Meanwhile Echternach serves as the starting point for many great hiking trails.
