The Dead Sea, a salt lake, is 420 metres below sea level. It is 8.6 times saltier than the ocean and nine times saltier than the Mediterranean Sea. Due to increased amount of salt in water, the marine life cannot flourish. It is 67 kms long and 18 km wide at its widest point. One of the best features of Dead Sea in Jordan is that you cannot swim as in order for the trial to swim, the body starts floating, which is entirely a different experience that cannot be passed on. It is almost impossible to drown in the Sea.

The Jordan River is the only major water source flowing into the Dead Sea, Jordan, although there are small perennial springs under and around the Dead Sea, creating pools and quicksand pits along the edges. There are no outlet streams. Its climate offers the year around sunny skies and dry air with low pollution.

As it offers a great place for the tourism, Dead Sea hotel Jordan provides lodging to all its tourists. There are several spa and beach resorts, where advantages of health and beauty treatments can be availed. People travel to this part of world to enjoy its natural beauty and healing properties.
