Terni Italy is the capital of the Terni province of Umbria. This is an ancient city situated on the Nera city, north of Rome. The city was established on the site of the ancient city of Interamna Nahars and during the 14th century, it became a territory of the papacy. Today, the city is the seat of a university, and is one of the most important industrial towns of Umbria. The city lies on the rail line from Rome to Ancona, and is the point of departure for the branch line to Rieti and L'Aquila.
