1. The Dunluce Castle located in County Antrim is a spectacularly beautiful that was at first occupied by the MacQuillan family and afterwards the MacDonnells. It is believed to be the brainwave for Cair Paravel, the famous castle in CS Lewis’ seen in the movie the Chronicles of Narnia.

2. Birr Castle was once occupied by the O’Carrolls, who was forbidden in 1620. Besides flowers, the gigantic telescope in the castle is it star attraction. It was built in the year1825 and until 1917 it was the biggest of its kinds in the world.

3. Carrickfergus Castle was commissioned by John de Courcy in the year1180, and garrisoned until 1928. This castle is the pride of its location and attracts many a tourist thoughtout the year. Carrickfergus Castle represents over 800 years of military might.
