About Ireland Ireland Cities Ireland Hotel Ireland Travel Guide

The town of Wexford is located in the eastern coastal region of Ireland and is a very beautiful holiday destination. Once a famous Viking township, today Wexford Ireland has dramatically turned into an attractive tourist spot. In the town, most attractions are of religious nature. Among the best architectural splendors is the St. Iberius Church, located on North Main Street, best known for its Romanesque architectural style. The twin churches sited at Rowe Street and Bride Street are also a must visit. These churches were built in the year 1858 and were designed by a follower of Pugin, both are counted among the best examples of 19th century neo gothic architecture styled churches. But comparatively Rowe Street is more attractive than the Bride Street. The wrecks of Selskar Abbey and the adjacent Westgate tower are also of great places of interest. There is also a lot to do in Wexford Ireland. The Main Street and its nearby lanes are great places to explore. On the harbor you will find many boats ready to take you for a trip around the Wexford Harbor. Instead, you may even lease a yacht at Ferrycarrig and travel around the river all by yourself. For those who are golfing buffs, Wexford Golf Course is situated just at a spitting distance from the city centre at Mulgannon. All in all Wexford is a beautiful city.
