Sligo

Sligo Ireland is the largest city in the region of County Sligo in Northwestern region of Ireland. Customarily a small coastal town, in the past few years Sligo has experienced major changes and renovations and now offers much in the way of entertainment, shopping, dining and drinking. It is a great starting point from where you can explore the often underestimated western and northwestern regions of Atlantic coast of Ireland. A lot of new progress has been made along the Garavogue River. Sligo is a pretty town with chic bars clubs and restaurants, art galleries, museums, theatres, and places of interest. Sligo is the largest urbane city in the region of north-west, with a rich heritage and Sligo town history that dates back to more than 6,000 years. The city of Sligo is a great place where you can indulge in activities like walking, cycling, horse riding, golfing, fishing and various water sports.

The lakes of Sligo, with their pristine still waters and forested islands, make for the best of sight in the city. What makes the sight all the more pretty are the craggy ranges that surround the region.  The impressive Neolithic cairn on the peak of Knocknarae, called locally as Queen Maeve's grave, is an arresting landmark. In the region of Carrowmore, you'll come across the biggest Megalithic cemetery in Ireland. Besides, the beaches of Sligo are absolutely stunning.
