Shahpura

Shahpura, located at 58 km from Bilwara, used to be capital of the erstwhile state of Shahpura in the princely days. The rulers of this place belonged to the sisodia family of Rajputs of Mewar. The town was taken over by Sujan Singh, who became its first chief. Located in the Indian state of Jaipur, the town is surrounded by a wall with four gates.

Shahpura Jaipur houses Ram Dwara, one of the prettiest structures. It was built by one of the trust, popularly known as Snehi Sampradaya Trust. It is famous all over the country as well as in other parts of the world. The pilgrimage comes even from Burma to worship the place. An annual fair known as Phool Dol Ka Mela is held for five days in a year in the month of March and April and that’s the time for maximum tourists to the place. It has the most beautiful domes and pillars. The domes are painted and rest all presents a wonderful piece of carving. There is also Keshri Singh Barhath haveli, also known as Trimurti Samarak. It is a memorial place fo three freedom fighters, Pratap Singh, Jarawar Singh and Keshri Singh.
