Chiplun is a city in the Ratnagiri district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Located at about 320 km south of Mumbai, it is an industrial town catering to mostly pharmaceutical and chemical industry. An ancient town on the bank of River Vashishthi features on tourism map of Konkan region. It lies in the valley between Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. Well connected by Konkan railway, it is link between the western coast and the interior of Maharashtra. It is a popular stopover for those who proceed towards Goa via Mumbai.

Maharashtra Chiplun has many attractions. The most famous among them is Shri Kshetra Parshuram Temple in worship of Shri Parshuram, who is believed to be the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and he created Konkan by driving back the sea with his arrow. Tourists seeking for a peaceful holiday prefer to stay in Guhagar, located at 42 km from Chiplun. It is a typical Konkan town with a beautiful clean beach, where people come to see the sunset. There are Velneshwar and Hedvi beach and temple, which are clean and beautiful.
