Golden Temple

The Golden Temple or Darbar Sahib, situated in Amritsar, is the most sacred temple for Sikhs. In its architecture are included, symbols associated with other places of worship. The Golden Temple is the most important pilgrimage of not only the Sikhs all over the world, but also believers of other religions, as the doors of the Gurdwara are always open for everyone irrespective of their religion, caste and creed.

Akal Takth

Sixth Guru Sri Har Gobind had got it constructed as a seal of authority symbolizing the unity of spiritual and temporal life in 1609. It rightly faces the Golden Temple . Built by the Sixth Master Guru Hargobind has been the nerve centre or the Sikhism ever since. All commandments affecting the community as a whole were and are issued from here. The ground floor of the present building was constructed in 1874. Three storeys were subsequently added by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. A number of weapons used by Guru Hargobind, Guru Gobind Singh and other Sikh heroes are preserved at Akal Takht.

Jallianwala Bagh

Martyrs' Memorial built in the shape of eternal flame of liberty is situated on the outskirts of Golden Temple . Here, about 1500 to 2000 persons who were attending a peaceful meeting during the freedom movement fell under the bullets of the British General Dyer, on April 13, 1919 . The British Queen Elizabeth II and her husband laid a wreath at the Memorial on 14 Oct.' 1997.

Ram Bagh

Ram Bagh a beautiful garden, an accustomed listener to the Neighs of thousand horses, announcing the arrival of the statesman of the century Maharaja Ranjit Singh(1780-1839) the Lion of Punjab, has in its heart the summer Palace of this great ruler. Maintenance free inbuilt cooling system designed in the Palace exhibits the architectural excellence and invokes a keen interest. To commemorate the memory of his valor Ram Bagh on its one end has a lively statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh saddled on a horse in a winsome posture.
