Keflavik Iceland is known as the land of perpetual morning. The town developed after its foundation in the 16th century due to its fishing and fish processing industry. In the 1940s the US built the Keflavik International Airport which continued to help in the city’s growth as a direct benefit from flight operations. The 1960s and 70s saw the towns musicians making the town famous. Many visitors to Keflavik have found their trip to the city a truly amazing experience. It offers ample scope to the tourists to go on an exploration trip. The waterfalls at Skoggafoss are a sight to be viewed in right earnest. While there one might get an opportunity to taste the special seasoning they put on horse. From Keflavik one can also plan a day trip to the nearby geothermal power plant which pulls up hot water from deep in the earth. The water is then put into the small lake beside it. This has earned the lake the name of “The Blue Lagoon”. It is said that the lake is famous for curing psoriasis. The city is worth a visit simply to see the beautiful natural beauty of the region and enjoying the pleasurable friendly ambience. |
