Hong Kong Climate

 

Hong Kong climate is subtropical owing to the wide temperature variation and cooler winters. Hong Kong's lies within the tropics, but its seasonal changes are greater than in most places at similar latitudes. Hong Kong climate is mostly dominated by monsoons and seasonal alternation of winds. Temperatures can fall below 10 degrees Celsius in winter and exceed 31 degrees Celsius in summer.

The best times to visit Hong Kong would be during autumn and winter when the Hong Kong climate is dry and cool. To experience best Hong Kong climate, visit the country in late September, where the pleasantness lasts through early December. The days are pleasant and sunny while the nights are comfortably cool. There is little rainfall and no humidity. About 90 per cent of the rainfall occurs between April and September.

During the monsoon period, visitors to Hong Kong should be vigilant and prepared with umbrellas at all times. It is advisable to dress warmly, or carry along a jacket or sweater just in case there is a sudden change in weather.
