Flights

Frankfurt International Airport is the main gateway for transcontinental flights, although Düsseldorf and Munich also receive their share of overseas air traffic. Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn and Stuttgart also have big enough airports. Bremen, Dresden, Erfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Münster-Osnabrück and Nuremberg too have small ones.

 
Railroads

Germany is also very well connected by railroads. Long-distance trains connecting major German cities with those in other countries are called EuroCity trains. Taking an overnight train is the most comfortable options to travel in the country. You have an option to choose between sleepers, which are comfortable compartments for up to three people, with washbasin; couchettes, which sleep between four and six people; and seat carriage, which have roomy, seats. Dynamic trains are highly recommended if you are there during peak summer season. Very recently, the railroad was privatized.

 
Buses & Cars

Buses and cars are integral part of transport in Germany. There are companies which offer services to the visitors. They can commute from the rest of Europe to Germany by the conveyance run by these companies. However, buses and cars are favorable options to cover shorter distances. If you are already Europe, it is always cheaper to get to get to Germany by bus or train. Excellent highway system connects entire Germany very well to the rest of Europe.
