Located in the city of Thuringia, Germany, Gera is a low populated city and the largest in the federal state. Gera is of great importance because of being in the Thuringia, the heart of Germany. It came into existence in the year 995. It has been the residence of younger line of Reuss monarchy since 1564. 1945’s bombing today destroyed the large portions of Gera. Until Germany unification in 1990 the city belonged to the German Democratic Republic.
