Aachen

With a glorious history, Aachen boasts of being one of the fabulous cities of Germany. Aachen Germany was an imperial city that witnessed many kings’ and emperors’ coronations. Favorite of the emperor Charlemagne, Aachen is blessed with many wonderful sites, both natural and artificial. You still can see the remains of his grand palace in the cathedral and town Hall.

Out of some magnificent examples of natural assets in the city, some of them are:

Elisa Fountain is a fine tourist spot where you come across an exemplary flow of water into the two marble basins at the back of the rotunda. Though the water smells bad because of the high concentration of Sulphur, it serves very well as a fine content for digestive processes. Named after Princess Elisabeth, this city is famous for its wonderful spa facilities that are situated in the suburb called Burtscheid—a place to recover from all rheumatic illness and many other disorders.

This is another site that graces the Aachen Germany map. An impressive and valuable fountain of Charlemagne is where you can see the statue of the emperor with his crown, Orb and scepter standing tall in the middle of the market place. Charlemagne is wearing a knight's armor. However, you only have the replica of the original statue to see. The original one is preserved in the coronation hall of Town Hall.

Built in 1786 by the Aachen architect Jacob Couven the Couven Museum consists of typical Couven style and suitability to serve the purpose. Adorned with 18th century’s decoration, it houses a vast collection of and other impressive artistic works on which you can gape for hours in surprise.

The “Marktplatz” also called market square is the highest point of medieval Aachen. “Aula Regia” is the greatest attraction of this place. It is a Royal Hall in stone. You would find all good traits in an Aachen Germany Hotel.
