About France France Cities France Hotels France Travel Guide

Lyon France is known the world over as the capital of French gastronomy. On a trip to Lyon, one is spoiled for choice. In Lyons Township one can entertain in the popularly charming and famous “bouchon” bistros or enjoy oneself in the refined elegance of the variety of Lyons restaurant. For the adventure freaks there is the lively atmosphere of its open air markets as well. There is one 5 km stretch on the Rhone River embankment which ahs been developed into a riverside promenade. It runs from the northern end of the city to the southern end. The Lyon France map will soon see a change in set up with two ambitious projects built around leisure areas which will give a new shape to the urban landscape.

There are many hotels Lyon where you can stay put and they all provide easy access to the nearest resorts in the world’s largest ski area – the Alps – in just about an hour and half by car. The sea and Marseille are excellent picnic spots with just about an hour and half ride away on the Mediterranean TGV high-speed rail line from downtown Lyon. In and around Lyons Township there are a few other ideal weekend gateway spots like the Provence, Ardeche, Drome, Beaujolais, Burgundy, Jura and Dombes regions. Lyon France is now busy forging a role for itself within a new Europe. More than any other French city, it has embraced the monetarist vision of the European Union. Lyon certainly has its charms and you're likely to spend some time enjoying the township.
