Tahkovuori

Tahkovuori or Tahko as it is generally called is a major tourist destination for visitors to the country. Tahkovuori tourism holds much importance both during the winters as well as summers. The town is situated approximately 70 kilometers from Kuopio city. The extremely good location along with major thrust on developing the various Tahkovuori places of interest has resulted in the growth of Tahkovuori tourism. An old place which was once used for strip mining is today used for opera performances. On a visit to Tahkovuori one can also visit Jokikumpu which is an excellent farm tourist attraction that was founded in 1998.
