Located in the province of Western Finland is the town of Kokkola (called Karlbey in Swedish). In Finnish, Kokkola implies 'The place of eagle' or ‘place of bonfire'.

R.K Renlund Art Museum houses excellent works of art that has been broadly categorized in three sets: The art of works by Veikko Vionoja, The compilation of silhouettes by Kerttu Meriläinen and The Renlund Art Collection. One of its own kinds, The Hunting Museum attracts many tourists every year. The museum was founded in the year 1989 and showcases the collected works of Erik Hagstrom which includes historical objects and articles related to hunting from prehistoric era up till present. The most ancient article here, being a ski that is believed to be as old as the Iron Age. The Town Market Square is among the most electrifying places to visit in the region of Kokkola. Open throughout the week except on Sundays, the Square hosts many cultural events and shows during the balmy summer season. Since the roads and streets are well maintained here you may even indulge in roller- skating and biking with pleasure.
