Watford town is beautiful and lively town with Watford history playing the bigger part starting from its origin to early history to industrial revolution and beyond. Watford name was derived from the name of the landowner “Watters ford” and was therefore made shorter by creating Wat’s ford and thereby its present name. The town in present we knows as Watford was a Saxon village at their time the town originated as linear line of houses.On the northern side of the ford it was located on the first dried out ground above the marshy edges of the river colne.
