Northampton is a splendid city with conceit of wealth and resources. The town is home to many tourists’ attractions some of them are like Abington Park which is famous for annual balloon festival it was used to be a racecourse till 1904, and then it was left off due to the series of accidents. There is white Elephant public house at the far side of the park and named after the closure of the racecourse. During the Second World War the park was ploughed over so that natives could plant and grow vegetables for themselves.
City of Northampton is famous for its traditional parks that provide the historical aspects of the city as these parks are mute spectators of the bygone era. Some of the parks are Becket’s park it was named after Thomas Becket additionally he has also lend his name to Thomas Beckett a public house and Beckett’s well. One of a kind leisure park is situated at Billing Aquadrome leisure park is located on the town’s outskirts which inculcates a caravan site, funfair and marina. There is a marina bar situated at the site that also offers ‘the Quays’ which is a riverside café and ‘the billing mill’ which was converted from the original water mill. |
