Coventry England is a city and metropolitan district in central England. The city is famous for its automobile production. It’s the eighth largest city in England and the eleventh largest in the UK. It is also the second largest city after Birmingham in the English Midlands by population. The city is located 153 km northwest of London and 30 km east of Birmingham, and is notable for being further from the coast than any other British city. It’s saud that Lady Godiva and her husband founded a Benedictine abbey there in 1043. By the 14th century, Coventry developed into a flourishing market and textile-weaving town, which turned into one of the five largest towns in England.
Coventry England is known for its modern Cathedral, which was built after the World War II bombing of the old cathedral by the Luftwaffe. Ever since the city has developed an international reputation as Europe's major city of peace and reconciliation, centred around its Cathedral, and holds an annual Peace Month. The city’s also notable because of its Coventry motor companies, which have contributed significantly to the British motor industry. Moreover, the city also has two universities, Coventry University and the University of Warwick.
Coventry airport England is a small international airport in Baginton, Warwickshire, and some 6 km south of Coventry, England. The airport is actually in Warwickshire just outside the Coventry city boundaries. Coventry Airport England is a main hub for Thomsonfly, the scheduled service provider of Thomson Holidays who also owns Britannia Airways. Coventry Airport is a large freight handling hub and an important flight training centre. It also operates limited passenger flights and can offer parking and a walk-on coach-to-plane service.
