Being an ancient town Cobham’s history can be traced back through roman times till Iron Age. Cobham is also mentioned in Domesday Book. And its resources are counted and recorded. Cobham tourism is studded with many stars the main assets are brick water mill the river mole provides the backdrop of this splendid landmark. The mill which was built on 1822 was once magnanimous in architecture. The mill was operational till 1928 until it became too costly to operate. The river Mole itself is a sparkling river highlighted with many birds building their nests near river Mole. Instead of swans and ducks that are seen popularly there are birds like kingfishers, woodpeckers, herons, parakeets , pheasants and other bird life. Some of the attractions are St.michael’s chapel, St.Andrews church, church stile house, Korea cottages; Church gate house etc.St.Michael’s chapel was used to be a bake house. The river mole can be crossed through an Ashford bridge. The bridge is only durable and judicious to cross during the time when the river is low.
