The Bath city England was established by the Romans around AD 43. The city is full of its architecture, history and culture, and has long been a visitor’s place of interest. The city is situated at 51°23′N 2°22′W and is around 25 kilometers south-east of the larger city and port of Bristol. Many of Bath's great buildings date back from its renaissance in the 18th century when it again became a fashionable spa town and played host to royalty and the cream of aristocracy. The city Bath is connected to Bristol and the sea by the River Avon, which is navigable via locks by small boats. Bath city England is Britain's leading winter resort and has the only natural hot springs in the country. The city has important industries running here such as Engineering, printing, bookbinding, wool-weaving, and clothing. The city is made famous by its natural hot springs as the city is founded around these naturally-occurring hot springs in the country. It was first documented as a Roman spa and it’s said that the waters from its spring were believed to be a cure for many afflictions. From Elizabethan to Georgian times it was a resort city for the wealthy. As a result of its popularity during the latter period, the city contains many fine examples of Georgian architecture, most notably the Royal Crescent. Today it’s a World heritage site, with a population of over 80,000. |
