Czech Republic transportation department provides fantastic transportation facility which interconnects the cities as well as neighboring countries. Transport in the Czech Republic, by air, buses and trains are comparatively cheap and convenient rather than driving or taking a taxi. Travelers can buy a tourist pass which will enable them to use any type of mass transit as many times as they wish within valid time period. Buses may ask more fare for extra luggage. On weekends, there may be less number of buses service. There are categories of train services like ‘Rychlik’ means fast direct trains, Osobny means ordinary trains which stops at every station. Travelers can get international tickets at separate counters. There may some discounts for the students. Usually the time schedule are posted at the bus stop but the codes for buses are very confusing so it would be better to ask at tourist office. Metro train service is available only in the capital city Prague. Metro provides special fares for short ride. If you are planning to take a taxi then make sure that taxi is metered otherwise you may be overcharged. |
