About australia australia Cities australia Hotels australia Travel Guide

Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland and the third largest city in Australia. It is an ideal headquarters for an Australian holiday with domestic and international airports, the Gold Coast to the south and the Sunshine Coast to the north in the Map of Brisbane. It is renowned all over the world for the pleasant weather conditions, the outdoor lifestyle and Brisbane Accommodation. Visitors to Brisbane enjoy a wide range of landscapes and lifestyles. The metropolitan is surrounded by leafy, sometimes very hilly, suburbs. Right from a brilliant climate and magical scenery, to tropical islands and rain forest, the city has something to offer for everyone. Millions of local and international visitors flock here to soak up its stunning attractions every year.

In an extensive city like Brisbane, transport is an important issue. Public transport includes suburban electric trains, Brisbane City Council buses and private coach companies. However, many Brisbane people commute to work or study by car or public transport. Ferry and charter cruises are available on the river and to the Moreton Bay islands. There is too much diversity as city skylines, theme parks, island resorts, mountain ranges, pristine beaches and rolling countryside, on the map of Brisbane. Moreton Bay and its islands provide water sports, sailing and sea-side suburbs to tourists visiting the place. The Pacific Highway has prominent surf beaches. The Sunshine Coast towns and hinterland are popular holiday spots dotted with comfortable Brisbane Accommodation.

Brisbane is a vibrant metropolis, and is filled with culture and charm. The city is also a great location to discover the Queensland countryside and small country towns surrounding this major city. Toowoomba - known as the garden city - is only a few hours away, and a memorable day trip with antique shops and fruit barns scattered along the highway. Fantastic day trips also include the famous Australia Zoo and Underwater World on the Sunshine Coast, with majestic scenery such as the Glasshouse Mountains which can be enjoyed while you are driving. The downtown offers first class restaurants and an extensive shopping mall. It deserves a full day to explore the sandy lagoon, shops, cafes and restaurants. On weekends, there are free concerts, plus unique art and craft markets.
