Asia is the largest continent of the world that covers nearly one-third of the land surface on the earth. The word Asia is said to be derived from the word Asu, an Akkadian word, which means, "to go out" or "to rise" and thus is the reason of it being called the land of the rising sun. Asia represents almost one-third of earth's land mass which has Europe on its left side, Australia on its down right and Africa on its down left. The demarcation between Asia and Africa is made by the Isthmus of Suez. Asia has been divided into three important divisions: The Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North Asia countries. Of the holiday destinations Asia, the tourist destinations in south Asia have become very popular among the leisure travelers but also for the business travelers. It is famous for the world's highest point, Mt. Everest, and the lowest point outside of uninhabitable Antarctica, the Dead Sea. Asia includes the world's most populated countries, China and India; the world's longest coastline, it houses the largest and deepest lakes on Earth, the Caspian Sea and Lake Baikal and some of the important rivers.
